The Hayden Creek fire is 20 miles from my house. The fire crews have done an amazing job. Engine crews, aerials crews, heavy equipment, and hot shot crews (which my cousin is working on) have really turned the tide. It went from nothing to something to nothing thanks to their containment efforts and good weather. I have been treated to Chinooks and a KMax and some big planes as well.

Fires are natural and need to happen, but a response is sometimes needed near municipalities.

Crazyness. Depending on the wind we’re getting the smoke from that fire here Colorado Springs. Be safe!

Glad things are going better. It’s amazing how much difference the weather can make, good or bad. That was a huge component in ending the Cold Springs fire here last week. There’s a lot of hot, dry summer left, too.
